The sheer volume of data neuroscientists grapple with daily is truly massive. It reaches into the terabytes after recording for a few minutes. Scientists lacked the proper tools to handle the data.

The bottleneck in the research process was the management of this data. It required a long process to input.  The data curation process alone would take up to 6 months of work. This long curation process was a significant problem. Too, researchers could only use the data once, for a single study.
Researchers couldn't share the data, or keep it for future insights. This single-use data diminished the value of each study.

With advanced artificial intelligence, we achieved a jump in process efficiency. Using AI, data curation that previously took half a year can now be done in about a month.

Spike sorting has never been easier. Performing advanced spike sorting on extensive electrophysiology datasets is crucial for studying neural activity. This task demands significant computing resources. Large data sets, complicated algorithms, real-time processing, and iterative optimization make it so.

To address this issue, our team integrated spike sorting with options like Kilo-sort and Klusta sort into DBC Cloud. Running these algorithms in the cloud, we can allocate significant processing and computing power as needed. This approach achieves faster, more accurate dataset analysis.

The output of the spike sorting process is this: extensive, raw data that requires curation.
To simplify manual curation for neuroscientists, we created a user-friendly UI/UX design. It features a customizable grid and an extensive set of functional widgets. Our work also included implementing AI-powered curation, which provides an already-curated output. Scientists can then analyze and edit the output as needed. This method streamlines the data refinement process, leading to more research insights.
