Adapting Agile for a Virtual Reality Environment

Moving an established web-based task management tool into VR was a big challenge. It required significant technical and user experience considerations. Our main goal was to keep the core functionality of Roundrush, but make it better with VR.

Switching from a traditional web app to a VR environment needed more than just tech changes. We needed to rethink how users interact with the app. At the same time, we wanted to keep the essence of Agile project management.

The general challenge in VR is creating 3D environments that perform well. All that lighting, shading, and texture is a lot of information for VR devices to process. The amount of data for each scene can be very large. As a result, the performance can be choppy. Meanwhile, Meta requests a certain number of frames per second (FPS) for apps on the Oculus store.
